The time has come…

“Books are the plane, and the train, and the road. They are the destination, and the journey. They are home.”
Anna Quindlen, How Reading Changed My Life

Dear Reader,

We’ve been together a while, you and I! I started thebookkat over two years ago to share the books I love to read with you all. The greatest part of being a reader is connecting with other readers and sharing that love. It is a passion that helps to grow many kinds of friendships and opens up so many possibilities and opportunities. Books can open all kinds of doors, in our imaginations and in our lives!

The last 18 months have been really tough and after much soul-searching, I have realised that my life is heading in a totally different direction to where I thought it would and I’m really excited for where this new path is taking me. Unfortunately, I feel like this path – my written blog – is not something I want to do right now. Writing has always been a challenge and I am finding that I am putting it off even more than I used to. I’ve also lost a bit of my reading mojo and so I feel that it is time to go back to basics and for thebookkat.com, that means putting it on hold for a while!

I’m not giving it up completely; I am going to focus my attentions on getting my reading mojo back and connecting with the book community on Instagram, the place it all began. So this is not goodbye… just a ‘see you later’. I want to thank you all for your support and encouragement. I have loved hearing your opinions on the books I’ve shared and hope that I’ve inspired you along the way. I wish you all the very best with your reading journey’s and hope to see you all down the track!

Love,

Katherine
