“It was a wonderful morning, very clear and still. The lawn was silver with dew, the growing tips of the kauri trees on the ridge shone coppery pink in the early morning sunlight…at seven thirty I had a lemon yogurt cake in the oven and was chopping onions.”
– Danielle Hawkins, The Pretty Delicious Café

I really enjoyed this book! In the mania leading up to Christmas, it was the perfect story to sit back with and escape for a while. It is easy to read but very engaging and likable! It is light-hearted and gives you the warm and fuzzies… the story isn’t without some interesting complications but when the overarching message is to follow your heart, you know the story is going to finish exactly where you want it to…
Hawkins writes some lovely dialogue and she infuses her story with warmth and care. It is an endearing and charming read!
